Namyangju City’s ‘Library Exploration Team, Family Library Camp’ Successfully Concluded Namyangju City held the "Library Expedition Team, Family Library Camp," a Reading Month event, on the 28th at the Jeong Yak-yong Library.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 30th that the "Library Expedition Team, Family Library Camp" event held at the Jeong Yak-yong Library on the 28th, as part of Reading Month, was successfully concluded.


The "Library Expedition Team, Family Library Camp" is a program where 15 families with children in grades 1 to 3 of elementary school become expedition members and explore various parts of the library after operating hours when no one else is present.


The program consisted of △ orientation for icebreaking among family members △ picture book cooking class △ mini sports day △ treasure hunt △ reading quiz, among other activities.


A citizen who participated in the event with their child said, "It was great to have time to communicate and bond with my family through various activity programs, and especially the unique experience of completing the treasure hunt mission together while roaming the quiet library with no one else there left a lasting impression." They added, "Even though the event lasted a long time, it was so fun that I lost track of time."


Kim Hye-yeon, Director of the Library Policy Division, said, "We hope this event created good memories of the Namyangju City Library," and added, "We will continue to strive to operate various programs to lower the barriers to the library and spread positive perceptions about the library."
