Namyangju City Opens a Community Harmony Event with the 'Neo+Nadeuli Culture and Sports Festival' Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is delivering a greeting at the Geumgok-dong 'You+Outing' Culture and Sports Festival held at Lee Seok-young Square on the 28th.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 30th that the Geumgok-dong 'Neo+Naduri' Culture and Sports Festival held at Lee Seok-young Square on the 28th was successfully concluded with about 4,000 citizens in attendance.


The Geumgok-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Jeong Seung-hoon) and the Geumgok-dong Sports Association (President Jang Kyung-ho) prepared a variety of enjoyable programs to promote the health and harmony of local residents during this festival.


Local residents who attended the event encouraged and cheered each other while engaging in friendly competition through the Hongyureung Walking Contest and the Cheerful Sports Day held in the morning.


In the afternoon, a presentation performance and exhibition by the residents' autonomy center clubs showcased the talents that the participants had honed over time. Various experiential spaces, including wish lantern hanging and mini soccer games themed around "Hongyureung Night! Play!", were set up, drawing participation and positive responses especially from families with children.


In the evening, an exciting Madangnori (traditional Korean outdoor play) performance and congratulatory performances by singers including Park Hyun-bin added to the festival's enthusiasm.


After the event, a closing ceremony was held along with a lucky draw event, receiving great responses from participants. This event was successfully completed with the passionate participation and harmony of Geumgok-dong residents.


A citizen who participated in the event said, "After the long and hot summer heat subsided, an event full of sights and fun was held, and I enjoyed a pleasant outing with my family for the first time in a while."


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, "I thank all the officials who successfully led this meaningful and grand residents' festival," and added, "We will continue to strive for the super growth of Namyangju City, including improved transportation and the upcoming establishment of an innovative medical service infrastructure."


The Geumgok-dong Neo+Naduri Culture and Sports Festival is the largest local event that connects culture and sports for everyone to enjoy together, greatly contributing to residents gathering, interacting, communicating, and enhancing community spirit.
