Ministry of the Interior and Safety Contest Recognized for Expanding New Investment Projects
Last Year, Participation Approved in Six New Projects Worth 2.2185 Trillion Won
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, CEO Kim Yonghak) received the Excellence Award in the Investment Activation category at the '2024 Local Public Institution Innovation and Investment Activation Best Practices' contest held at the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute on the 27th.
Busan Urban Corporation is receiving the Excellence Award in the "Local Public Enterprise Investment Activation Sector."
This contest, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute, was organized to foster an innovation culture by selecting outstanding cases of innovation in local public institutions, thereby promoting empathy for innovative values and sharing and spreading achievements.
Until the end of June, the contest collected outstanding cases in the fields of ▲local public institution innovation and ▲local public enterprise investment activation from local public enterprises and local investment and contribution institutions. The final selections were made through a three-stage evaluation process.
In this contest, BMC was recognized for its achievements in six new investment projects (worth KRW 2.2185 trillion) carried out last year, including ▲the construction of public housing in the Eco Delta City waterfront zone, ▲commissioned development of a game convergence space, and ▲the creation of the Busan Daejeo public housing district. The corporation was awarded the Excellence Award in the Investment Activation category for its contribution to revitalizing the sluggish regional construction industry and helping the local economy recover.
Kim Yonghak, CEO of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "I am pleased that the government has recognized BMC's pioneering achievements in expanding regional investment in the public sector, especially in a situation where the local economy is stagnant and investments are shrinking." He added, "We will do our best to diversify new business models, secure future growth engines for BMC, and grow together with the local community by expanding the supply of public housing to ensure residential stability for citizens."
In September, BMC decided to participate in a new public housing construction project for three residential land blocks (3,013 units, KRW 1.3336 trillion) in the Eco Delta City waterfront zone.
