Pianist Kim Su-yeon Solo Recital... Brahms and Chopin Ballades

On October 5th at the Seoul Arts Center IBK Chamber Hall

Pianist Kim Su-yeon will hold a solo recital titled "Ballades" at 8 p.m. on October 5th at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center.

Kim Su-yeon will begin her performance with Schubert's Impromptu No. 1, which features a free form and an impressive, somewhat tragic theme. Following this, she will perform four Ballades by Brahms and four Ballades by Chopin, centered on the theme of ballades?a genre that has become beloved today, characterized by dance forms combined with dramatic narratives and imbued with a nationalistic and "spirit of poetry" essence.

Brahms' four Ballades were inspired by a Scottish poem from "Voices of All Nations" by the German Romantic poet H?lderlin. Chopin's Ballades were composed inspired by the works of the Polish poet Mickiewicz, who embodied the will for freedom and fraternity.
