RaonSecure conducted an educational seminar on Korean-style mobile identification (K-DID) technology for high-ranking officials of the Costa Rican government.

IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (CEOs Lee Soon-hyung and Lee Jung-ah) held a K-DID technology training seminar over two days, on the 25th and 26th, at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, targeting officials from four Costa Rican government ministries.

The seminar was attended by senior government officials including Mora Roberto, Vice Minister of Health of Costa Rica, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT), Ministry of Finance (MOH), and the Central Bank (BCCR). This training seminar was part of the Korean Intelligent Information Society Agency (NIA)’s “Korea-Costa Rica Digital Government Cooperation Center (DGCC)” invitation training program.

During the seminar, RaonSecure showcased its blockchain-based DID identity qualification and authentication integrated platform technology to Costa Rican government officials and shared cases of implementing mobile identification in South Korea, thereby enhancing understanding of the excellence and technology of K-DID as a national digital ID.

Additionally, after the seminar, participants had the opportunity to experience practical content such as laboratory animal autopsy and drone piloting, provided by ‘Metademy,’ a service of RaonSecure’s subsidiary RaonMeta.

On the first day of the seminar, Jorge Hernandez, the Ambassador of Costa Rica to South Korea, visited RaonSecure’s headquarters, met with CEO Lee Soon-hyung and Costa Rican government officials, expressed interest in K-DID technology, and encouraged mutual cooperation.

RaonSecure won a joint cooperation project with the Korea-Costa Rica Digital Government Cooperation Center in June to carry out Costa Rica’s “Public Digital Wallet Construction Project.” Through this educational seminar, it is expected that the Costa Rican government’s interest and understanding of K-DID will increase, accelerating the establishment of Costa Rica’s national digital ID system.

Lee Soon-hyung, CEO of RaonSecure, stated, “Costa Rica is one of the countries in the Latin American region with high interest in adopting blockchain-based digital IDs. RaonSecure will successfully carry out the ongoing Costa Rican public digital wallet construction project and take the lead in the global expansion of K-DID.”

Meanwhile, based on South Korea’s experience in building blockchain-based national mobile IDs, RaonSecure is actively developing global national digital ID projects. In addition to Costa Rica, it is conducting an integrated digital ID project this year following last year’s national digital ID design consulting in Indonesia, and is also in discussions with several countries including the Philippines.
