Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education distributed educational materials for the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss to approximately 17,000 cooking staff members working at its affiliated public institutions.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has taken action to prevent noise-induced hearing loss among food service workers.
The Office announced on the 30th that it distributed educational materials guiding the use of hearing protection devices, following the provision of such devices to approximately 17,000 food service workers in its affiliated institutions to prevent occupational diseases.
Previously, the Office allocated a budget of over 500 million won to supply hearing protection devices tailored to the number of food service workers at each school and institution.
This measure was taken based on workplace environment assessments that determined food service workers are exposed to high levels of noise, aiming to prevent occupational diseases such as noise-induced hearing loss.
The distributed materials include ▲an educational video on wearing hearing protection devices ▲posters explaining how to wear different types of hearing protection devices ▲and safety and health signs.
Baek Young-hwan, Director of School Safety at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Through the production and distribution of educational materials on wearing hearing protection devices, we hope to establish a proper usage and wearing culture in schools." He added, "We will continue to make efforts to prevent industrial accidents and ensure a safe and healthy workplace."
