KOTRA Expands Defense Export Opportunities... 76 Companies and Buyers from 16 Countries Gather in Daejeon

Ministry of Industry and Defense Acquisition Program Administration Joint Defense Export Consultation Meeting
"Follow-up Support to Ensure Contract Success"

The '2024 Korea Defense Industry Export Comprehensive Consultation Meeting (KODAS),' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and organized by KOTRA, will be held on the 2nd of next month at the Intercity Hotel in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.


KOTRA described the event as "the largest domestic defense and security export consultation meeting," stating on the 30th that it aims "to strengthen the export capabilities of small and medium-sized defense companies and enhance the competitiveness of the defense ecosystem."


This event will feature 76 domestic defense companies from various fields such as drones, tanks, and communication equipment. Approximately 350 export consultations are expected to take place with 52 buyers from 16 countries. Major overseas government agencies, including the Slovak Ministry of Defense, Jordan Defense Development Authority, and the Mexican Navy, will participate extensively to engage with Korean defense companies.

On the previous day, the 1st, a technology seminar will be held with participants including Hanwha Systems, D&S Technology, and AhnLab. Buyers attending will have the opportunity to directly observe Korea's advanced defense technologies and discuss technical cooperation.


Lee Jae-sik, head of KOTRA's Defense Materials Trade Support Center, said, "KODAS will provide our companies with a platform to grasp the actual demand trends in the global defense industry," adding, "We will collaborate with overseas trade centers to ensure that the technology seminar and export consultations lead to contract conclusions and will strive to provide follow-up support."


KOTRA's Defense Materials Trade Support Center plans to continuously hold online delegations for defense and security and global partnering consultation meetings to support the overseas expansion of domestic defense companies.
