TSMC to Announce Q3 Earnings on the 17th
Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturer), is expected to record its highest-ever second-half performance, driven by strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI).
On the 29th (local time), Taiwanese media including China Times reported that TSMC will announce its third-quarter results and fourth-quarter outlook at its earnings briefing scheduled for the 17th. They emphasized that due to increased AI-related demand, the third-quarter results this year are likely to be the best ever.
TSMC's third-quarter revenue is expected to reach between 728 billion and 754 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 30.2 trillion to 31.3 trillion Korean won), an increase of 7.6% to 11.4% compared to the second quarter. TSMC recorded about 27 trillion won in revenue in the second quarter of this year.
The basis for this record performance includes the continuous shipments of Nvidia's AI chips, such as the H100, H200, and Blackwell, as well as the 100% utilization rate of TSMC's 3, 4, and 5 nanometer (nm; one billionth of a meter) processes and advanced packaging processes.
The semiconductor market is paying close attention to TSMC's overseas factory construction, expansion of advanced packaging production facilities, and progress in advanced processes such as 1.6 nanometer and 2 nanometer technologies.
