Mayor Kang Su-hyun Attends Completion Ceremony of '5th Armored Brigade Military Unit Integrated Civil Service Center' Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, visited the 5th Armored Brigade located in Bongyang-dong on the 27th, and after the completion ceremony of the 'Integrated Military Unit Civil Service Center,' he is inspecting the interior.

Gang Su-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, visited the 5th Armored Brigade (Brigade Commander Kim Byung-gi) located in Bongyang-dong on the 27th to attend the completion ceremony of the ‘Integrated Military Unit Civil Service Center’ and the opening ceremony of the ‘World Heritage Promotion Center,’ promising close mutual cooperation between the city and the military.

The event was attended by about 30 people, including Mayor Gang Su-hyun, related senior officials, Brigade Commander Kim Byung-gi, and other personnel.

The ‘5th Armored Brigade Integrated Military Unit Civil Service Center’ was constructed as part of the ‘Donation and Transfer Project’ following the ‘Yuljeong-Bongyang Road Expansion and Paving Construction’ led by the city’s Road Division.

Mayor Gang Su-hyun stated, “We will do our best to maintain a close cooperative system with the jurisdictional unit to improve the residential environment of local residents, promote balanced urban development, and also resolve the military’s long-standing issues.”

Following this, Mayor Gang attended the opening ceremony of the ‘Yangju Hoeamsaji World Heritage Promotion Center’ located on the first and second floors of the integrated civil service center’s military personnel visitation room and expressed aspirations for the registration of ‘Yangju Hoeamsaji’ as a World Heritage site.

The ‘Yangju Hoeamsaji World Heritage Promotion Center’ is the second promotion center following the ‘Tap Water Love Room X World Heritage Promotion Center’ built opposite the ‘Yangju City Hoeamsaji Museum’ on September 7 last year. It is located in the 5th Armored Brigade Integrated Civil Service Center and is a facility available not only to military personnel families but also to nearby residents.

The first floor inside the promotion center prominently displays a new tourism map of Yangju for visitors and introduces major local tourist attractions such as ▲Gwana Site ▲Bulgoksan Mountain ▲Jang Uk-jin Art Museum.

The second floor provides comprehensive information about Yangju Hoeamsaji and the efforts to register it as a World Heritage site, including ▲panoramic views of Hoeamsaji ▲introduction to the World Heritage system ▲exhibition of representative relics ▲major events such as royal festivals and the Sarieun Daryejae tea ceremony held at Hoeamsaji.

Mayor Gang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “The opening of this promotion center has become an opportunity to further accelerate mutual cooperation with the 5th Armored Brigade and the push for World Heritage registration,” adding, “Based on this, we will do our best to promote the status and value of Yangju as a historic and cultural city.”
