Rapid Location Identification Possible in Nighttime Emergencies
On the 27th, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has recently completed the installation of solar-powered LED basic number plates in certain sections as part of the Pyeongtaek River bicycle path construction project.
The basic number plates are address information facilities that indicate locations without buildings or along roads based on basic numbers assigned at regular intervals along road names and road sections. They are used to quickly identify locations in case of accidents or disasters.
The newly installed solar-powered LED basic number plates operate by charging power using solar energy during the day and lighting up at night with the stored energy. This enhances nighttime visibility and is expected to contribute to preventing and responding to safety accidents for citizens.
Earlier, the city replaced or newly installed 223 basic number plates along the Pyeongtaek River bicycle path last month.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to maintain and manage the address information facilities to secure the golden time by quickly identifying location information in case of emergencies on the bicycle path."
