Activation of Resident Communication

Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu City, was appointed as the daily honorary tongjang of Ganeung-dong on the 25th and had an enthusiastic communication session with the residents of the neighborhood at close range.
This event was organized as part of the 'Dong-geun (Neighborhood-Close) Communication' to reflect the various voices heard from the field near the residents in the city administration. In particular, it is expected to alleviate the sense of alienation of groups that usually have fewer opportunities to participate in city administration and to serve as an opportunity for resident representatives to take pride as local leaders and strengthen the cohesion of the local community.
On that day, Mayor Kim Dong-geun participated in the monthly meeting of the Ganeung-dong Tongjang Association (President Kim Hwa-seon) as an honorary tongjang, actively communicating while listening to major issues and the difficulties faced by the tongjangs.
President Kim Hwa-seon said, “I am very grateful to be able to communicate sincerely with the mayor in a close place,” and added, “Please do not forget that you are the honorary tongjang of Ganeung-dong and continue to think about the development of Uijeongbu every day and every hour.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “It was a time to form a consensus on the future development of Ganeung-dong through mutual communication and understanding with the residents,” and added, “I will continue to listen to the expectations and opinions of citizens to create new growth engines for Uijeongbu together.”
