Post by a Man in His 60s Living in Busan on SNS
At the end of this summer, which saw record-breaking heatwaves, a photo and post uploaded on a certain social media platform caught people's attention.
On the 26th, the author began with a short message: "When the heat was at its peak, I set up a water station for delivery drivers in front of my door."
He added, "It's just a small gesture to show my gratitude to those who work so hard, but I feel a bit embarrassed to share it publicly as it might seem like bragging." He explained that he did it simply because it made him feel good.
He also expressed a hopeful wish to his Facebook friends, saying, "If anyone else follows this example, I think it would be good for everyone."
The author, who lives in Haeundae, is an executive in his early sixties working at a company in Busan. His Facebook friends quickly responded with what he called an 'emotional virus.' Around 80 people responded with 'likes,' and about 20 left comments praising him.
It appears he will continue to provide 500ml bottles of water for delivery drivers, who may be thirsty from their hard labor, whether it's hot or cool outside. On weekdays when he is at work, his wife plans to replenish the water station with refrigerated water if it runs out.
He concluded his post by saying, "After much thought over this extremely simple idea, I'm posting this?no negative comments, please!"
