The signing ceremony held on the 25th at Eduwill headquarters was attended by Yang Hyungnam, CEO of Eduwill; Park Seongho, CEO of EBS Media; Kim Minsu, CEO of Matei; Lee Dongwon, CEO of Activebooky; and Lee Jeonghyeop, Economic Advisor of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos, among other officials. The four companies plan to combine Korea’s advanced education system and abundant content capabilities to secure new growth engines in the Southeast Asian market.

Eduwill is capable of providing comprehensive educational support based on an integrated education system covering both online and offline platforms and systematic learning management solutions. Leveraging 32 years of expertise accumulated in the domestic education market, Eduwill plans to develop and supply education programs optimized for the Southeast Asian region, thereby contributing to the improvement of the local education level.

EBS Media will utilize its strengths in diverse educational content and character IP businesses to develop and localize content specialized for the Southeast Asian market. In particular, it plans to adapt education systems based on popular educational content domestically and internationally to fit local languages and cultures.

Matei, the operator of the Hotel Enjoy platform, possesses extensive know-how in tourism content. Through this, it will attempt to merge tourism and educational content in the Southeast Asian market. For example, it plans to create business models by combining educational programs with tourism products to develop local experiential learning programs or provide educational tours linked to tourist destinations.

Activebooky has already demonstrated successful cases in digital transformation (DX) in tourism and distribution sectors and in pioneering the Laos market. It is expected to create synergy across various fields through this collaboration.

Through this MOU, the four companies will develop and export educational content tailored to the characteristics of the Southeast Asian market and implement new business models combining this content with tourism content. They also plan to promote the distribution of character products using intellectual property (IP) content to strengthen competitiveness in the local market. By providing innovative services through the convergence of education, tourism, and IP content, they aim to offer Southeast Asian consumers opportunities to experience Korea’s excellent education and cultural content.

Notably, this agreement aims not only at simple content export but also at contributing to the development of local education and cultural industries. It is expected to enhance the global competitiveness of Korea’s content industry while providing new forms of education and cultural services to consumers in various Southeast Asian countries. The four companies plan to begin detailed business discussions with Laos government ministries within the year, using this MOU as a starting point.

An Eduwill official stated, "Starting with Laos, we will accelerate our entry into Southeast Asian markets such as Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, expanding our influence in local markets through regular consultative bodies and pilot program implementation. Through this, we will establish a foundation for Korea’s education and content industries to continue growing in the global market."
