The police investigated Myung Tae-kyun, identified as a key figure in the allegations of Kim Geon-hee's interference in candidate nominations, as a complainant.
On the 26th, the Anti-Corruption Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Myung for questioning regarding the details of the complaint.
Myung filed a complaint on the 19th against two reporters and the editor-in-chief of an internet media outlet that raised allegations of Kim's interference in candidate nominations, accusing them of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
The media outlet reported on the 5th that ahead of the general election, Kim Geon-hee allegedly requested former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun to run in a different electoral district.
The National Investigation Headquarters of the Police Agency received the complaint and assigned the case to the Anti-Corruption Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
