Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival Joint Project
UMFF Theater Class Attracts 2,037 Student Participants
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsoo), in collaboration with the Ulju Mountain Film Festival, has organized the 'Sharing Together UMFF Theater' arts experience program, which will see 2,037 elementary, middle, and high school students from the Ulsan region participate.
This program will take place on the 27th and 30th at the Yeongnam Alps Multipurpose Welcome Center in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, and at Ulsan Grand Park in Nam-gu, respectively. 'UMFF' stands for Ulju Mountain Film Festival.
'Sharing Together UMFF Theater' is a program that has been running since 2021, offering film classes tailored by grade level and theme, featuring outstanding films selected by youth jurors.
The program aims to provide students in culturally underserved areas with opportunities to experience the arts, fostering their creative thinking and cultural and artistic sensitivity.
Beyond simple film viewing, a variety of hands-on activities have been prepared so that students can directly experience film and art in nature and broaden their interest in the field of culture and the arts. In particular, the arts experience activities set against a natural backdrop offer students unique artistic experiences.
The Ulsan Office of Education will provide free transportation to schools participating in film viewing and arts experience activities. Through this program, it is expected that students will develop civic awareness and gain artistic inspiration through film and nature.
The Ulsan Office of Education also operated this program in the first half of the year, with approximately 1,450 students from the Ulsan region participating.
An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We will continue to develop a variety of arts experience programs so that many students can participate."
The 9th Ulju Mountain Film Festival, which will be held from the 27th to October 1st at the Yeongnam Alps Multipurpose Welcome Center and the Ulsan Grand Park Youth Square, will feature 97 mountain films from 28 countries.
