Three-Year Term, Compensation Depends on Annual Contract Terms
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) has begun the search for a new president to succeed Kim Yonghak, whose term ends on November 17.
The BMC Executive Recommendation Committee (ERC) announced on the 26th that it has posted a public recruitment notice for the new president on the BMC website, among other platforms. The term of office is three years, and compensation will be provided according to an annual salary contract.
The ERC outlined the following qualifications for presidential candidates: ▲ Experience and capability in managing large-scale organizations ▲ The ability to achieve management results by presenting a strong will for reform and vision ▲ Experience and capability to promote harmony between labor and management ▲ Professional knowledge and experience related to the corporation's work, such as urban development, construction, and real estate.
The application period will be open for about two weeks, until 5:00 p.m. on October 11.
The selection process for the new president consists of four stages: public recruitment of candidates, ERC screening and recommendation, personnel verification by the Busan Metropolitan Council’s Special Committee, and appointment by the Busan Metropolitan Government. The ERC will review the documents and, if necessary, conduct interviews, then recommend at least twice the number of candidates to be appointed to the city. Afterwards, Busan Mayor Park Hyungjun will select one candidate from among those recommended, and the final appointment will be made following the personnel verification process.
