The Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation will hold the '2024 Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival' from the 2nd to the 13th of next month in the wildflower complex area.
The corporation will showcase autumn representative flower gardens including chrysanthemum topiary (decorative plants trimmed into various animal shapes), cosmos, kochia, verbena, and pink muhly, allowing citizens to feel the autumn atmosphere after a long heatwave.
Additionally, cultural performances such as an autumn concert and busking, along with congratulatory performances by trot singers Kim Hee-jae and Yang Ji-eun, will fill the wildflower complex with flowers and music.
Along with this, various experiential and educational programs will be offered, including upcycling activities like making coffee grounds clay keyrings and acorn spinning tops using discarded wood, as well as ecological explanations, environmental play, and eco-stamp stamping. A food market operated by residents near the Sudokwon Landfill Site will also be set up.

At this festival, to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management values and revitalize the local social economy, the corporation is collaborating with the Incheon Social Economy Support Center to support booths of social enterprises and assist with corporate promotion and market development.
The Dream Park wildflower complex, where the festival is held, was selected last month as one of the '50 Beautiful Urban Forests' organized by the Korea Forest Service, and is loved as a resting place for Incheon citizens.
Song Byung-eok, president of the Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation, said, "I hope citizens create precious memories at the Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival, held for the first time in six years."
