Dobong-gu Overseas Trade Delegation Arrives in the US on the 23rd Local Time, Begins Activities
On the First Day, Signs Economic Exchange MOU with Fullerton City... Participates in LA Korean Festival from 26th to 29th, Selling Socks and More

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has decided to further strengthen economic cooperation with Fullerton City, USA.


The district announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for friendly economic exchange and cooperation with Fullerton City, USA.


As a result, it is expected that business opportunities and exchanges between companies in the two cities will be promoted, greatly contributing to the economic development of both cities.


On September 23 (local time), the district dispatched an overseas trade delegation to Fullerton City and Los Angeles, California, to pioneer the US market.


Upon arrival, the delegation first visited Fullerton City Hall and signed the economic exchange and friendly cooperation agreement with Fullerton City. The signing ceremony was attended by Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok and Fullerton City officials including Acting Mayor Fred Jung, Vice Mayor.


On that day, the two cities agreed to expand relations in administration, industry, private sector, and culture and arts based on mutual understanding of each region's culture.

The next day, on the 24th, the delegation visited the Orange County Korean Chamber of Commerce to discuss the entry of Dobong-gu local companies into the US market.


During a meeting with executives of the Orange County Korean Chamber of Commerce, including Chairman Jim Gu and Advisor No Sang-il, the delegation had in-depth discussions on strategies for entering the US market.


In particular, they shared information on the characteristics of the US market and local consumer trends, and specifically discussed ways for Dobong-gu companies to gain competitiveness within the US.


At the end of the meeting, Dobong-gu socks and eco-friendly clothing to be sold at the LA Korean Festival were promoted. Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “Dobong-gu products are excellent in design and quality. We ask for your cooperation to help our products become well known in the US.”


The district will participate with local companies in the LA Korean Festival held at Seoul International Park in LA from September 26 to 29 for four days. This year, they will sell 28,000 pairs of socks and 540 pieces of clothing, four times the quantity sold last year. The products for sale include socks from 12 companies of the Sock Manufacturers Association and eco-friendly clothing from Greenware Co., Ltd., a tenant company of Seoul Startup Hub Changdong.


Additionally, on September 26, a business agreement will be signed with the World Korean Trade Association in Los Angeles (OKTA LA). The agreement will focus on promoting Dobong-gu products and support projects, as well as building mutual networks.
