Sacheon City and Gyeongsang National University Hold Vision Declaration Ceremony for Department of Aerospace Technology and Management

Aiming to Foster Talent in the Local Aerospace Industry
Collaboration Among Local Governments, Universities, and Industry

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province and Gyeongsang National University held a vision proclamation ceremony on the 25th at the Sacheon City Hall main conference room to commemorate the opening of the Department of Aerospace Technology Management.


The event was attended by Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Kwon Jinhoe, President of Gyeongsang National University, Noh Kyungwon, Deputy Commissioner of the Korea Aerospace Administration, new students and participating professors of the department, industry representatives, and about 50 other attendees.

The ceremony proceeded in the following order: awarding of plaques of appreciation, welcoming remarks, commemorative speeches, congratulatory addresses, the vision proclamation performance, delivery of development funds, and a commemorative photo session.


The Department of Aerospace Technology Management aims to nurture talent for the local aerospace industry and was established through the collaboration of the local community, university, and industry.


The establishment of this department is based on Gyeongsang National University being selected as a glocal leading university in the aerospace and defense sectors, and the opening of a master's program is expected to contribute to the training of specialized personnel.


Meanwhile, Sacheon City is establishing itself as the center of the domestic aerospace industry with the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration, supporting the training of specialized personnel utilizing regional characteristics, and striving to build an aerospace complex city.


Through these efforts, the city plans to create a residential environment where outstanding talent, companies, and research institutes can gather.


Mayor Park stated, "The establishment of this department will play an important role in nurturing talent who will lead the future of the aerospace industry," and added, "We will do our best for the mutual development of the region, university, and industry."
