Development of Industry-Academia Exchange Program for Teachers
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) has signed a business agreement with Dongkuk CM Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Sanghoon) for the cultivation of outstanding science and engineering talents.
Through this agreement, Dong-A University and Dongkuk CM will cooperate to provide high-quality jobs for outstanding local science and engineering talents, contribute to regional industrial development, and create job opportunities in the community.
The College of Engineering and University Job Plus Center at Dong-A University, along with Dongkuk CM, will collaborate on the recruitment of outstanding talents and selection of full-time employees through the operation of the "Junior Employee System." They also plan to promote various mutual cooperation programs such as meetings between employees, alumni, and current students, as well as faculty exchanges with the College of Engineering.
The signing ceremony, held on the 24th at the main conference room of the university headquarters on Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Lee Haewoo, College of Engineering Dean Lee Jeongjae, Student and Career Support Director Shin Yongtaek (Director of the University Job Plus Center), External and International Affairs Director Park Hyuntae, and other Dong-A University officials. Dongkuk CM was represented by Busan Plant Manager Joo Janghan, Research Institute Director Nam Donwoo, Support Office Director Kim Hangi, and HR Team Leader Choi Sunhee.
President Lee Haewoo stated, "It is meaningful to sign an agreement with Dongkuk CM, which leads Korea’s steel industry and takes the lead in social contribution through the Songwon Cultural Foundation. With Dong-A University’s selection as a Glocal University, we will devote ourselves even more to nurturing talents, and I will personally work hard and cooperate closely to ensure that many outstanding graduates find employment at excellent companies like Dongkuk CM, seeking ways for mutual growth."
Plant Manager Joo Janghan said, "I hope that local talents will grow together with companies and become global number one. As Dongkuk CM celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, I hope that both Dongkuk CM and Dong-A University, a prestigious private university with tradition, will become partners heading toward the next 100 years together."
Established in 1954 as the first private steel company in Korea, Dongkuk Steel Group is the parent company of Dongkuk CM, a leading company specializing in surface-treated products such as cold-rolled steel sheets and color steel sheets. Dongkuk CM has a global network with three domestic business sites including its Seoul headquarters, Busan plant, and Doseong Center, as well as six overseas sites: subsidiaries in the United States and Japan, coil centers in India, Thailand, and Mexico, and a sales office in Germany.
The Dongkuk CM Busan Plant is focusing on introducing smart logistics systems such as automated packaging equipment, automated transportation equipment, and an automated unmanned crane system.
