Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the recruitment of foreign seasonal workers with Dong Thap Province and Yen Bai Province in Vietnam on the 23rd and 24th.

Cheongsong County Signs Agreement with Dong Thap and Yen Bai Provinces in Vietnam to Attract Foreign Seasonal Workers Cheongsong County signed a business agreement to attract foreign seasonal workers from Dong Thap Province and Yen Bai Province in Vietnam.

Through this agreement, Cheongsong County discussed stable methods for introducing seasonal workers as well as various ways to promote mutual exchange and cooperation with both Dong Thap Province near Ho Chi Minh City and Yen Bai Province near Hanoi.

This agreement is a strategic measure pursued by Cheongsong County to prepare for changes in the political situation of countries sending seasonal workers.

In particular, by signing agreements with these two regions, Cheongsong County will be able to actively respond to the increasing demand for foreign seasonal workers, which is expected to provide substantial help to farms suffering from labor shortages during the busy farming season due to aging populations and declining numbers of residents.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee said, "We will expand the introduction of foreign seasonal workers as a solution to the recurring labor shortage in rural areas and diversify partner countries so that we can respond quickly to changing international circumstances and the needs of local farms. I hope this agreement will serve as a cornerstone for exchange and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including the export of Cheongsong apples, beyond simply attracting seasonal workers."

During this visit, Cheongsong County also explored ways to export Cheongsong apples by visiting major agricultural markets in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City, the economic capital, so that the representative Korean brand "Cheongsong Apple" can establish a presence overseas.
