Paju-si Launches First Hydrogen Refueling Station... Accelerating Carbon Neutral City Realization

Full-scale Operation Starting in October After Pilot Phase

Paju-si Launches First Hydrogen Refueling Station... Accelerating Carbon Neutral City Realization Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station located at 829-8 Bongseo-ri, Paju-eup.

On the 25th, Gyeonggi Paju City announced that it began the pilot operation of the Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station located at 829-8 Bongseo-ri, Paju-eup on the 24th.

The 'Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station' is the first hydrogen charging station in Paju City. It will operate on a trial basis from the 24th to the 30th, on weekdays from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, offering free charging benefits for up to 20 vehicles per day during this period.

Starting from October 1, full commercial operation will commence, with hydrogen charging prices set at 11,500 KRW per kg for hydrogen buses and 11,000 KRW per kg for hydrogen passenger cars (Nexo).

The Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station can charge 300 kg of hydrogen per hour, boasting more than 12 times the charging capacity compared to existing passenger car hydrogen charging stations (25 kg/h). A total of three chargers are in operation, each completing charging within 5 minutes, allowing hydrogen vehicles to travel approximately 600 km on a full charge.

The operation of the Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station is expected to alleviate the inconvenience of drivers who previously had to travel to nearby cities such as Goyang or Yangju for hydrogen charging and contribute to the expansion of hydrogen vehicle distribution within Paju City.

Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, stated, “The Paju Bongseo Hydrogen Charging Station will be a convenient charging station not only for Paju citizens but also for hydrogen vehicle users in nearby areas,” adding, “The operation of the hydrogen charging station is expected to be a significant driving force for Paju City’s growth as a hydrogen city.”
