Gwangjin-gu Hosts the 1st Hip-Hop Breaking Festival

Starting at 4 PM on the 28th, various performances including dance battles and street dance by multiple teams will be held at the Children's Grand Park Open Stage
Before the festival, university club performances and promotional booths will operate from 11 AM

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the "1st Hip-hop Breaking Festival" on the 28th at the Open Stage in Children's Grand Park.


Hip-hop breaking, which has recently become popular among young people, has attracted great attention from sports fans worldwide, being selected as an official event for the 2024 Paris Olympics following the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.


In response, the district has prepared a festival venue in connection with the "2024 Cheongchun-daero" event starting on the 26th, to celebrate together with local youth.

The festival will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, featuring various hip-hop crews participating in dance battles, street dance, b-boying, DJing, and other performances. Any residents interested in hip-hop breaking can freely visit and watch without prior registration.


Additionally, before the main festival, starting at 11:00 AM, there will be participatory programs such as university club performances and promotional booths, allowing both youth and local residents to enjoy and enhance the festive atmosphere.


Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "In line with the popularity of hip-hop breaking, we have prepared a festival where people of various age groups can come together," adding, "We hope many residents visit to feel the passion of the youth and create joyful memories with their families and neighbors."
