[Special Stock] Woongjin ThinkBig to Introduce AI Textbooks in 1 Trillion Won Market Next Year... Development Spotlighted Up

Woongjin ThinkBig is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the government’s plan to fully introduce AI digital textbooks next year and the upcoming certification review results scheduled for the 24th.

As of 1:34 PM on this day, Woongjin ThinkBig is trading at 1,771 KRW, up 3.15% compared to the previous day.

According to industry sources, the government plans to introduce AI digital textbooks for some subjects in elementary, middle, and high schools starting next year. AI digital textbooks are customized textbooks that allow students to learn independently according to their individual levels and characteristics by integrating various content with AI technology. Market research firms estimate that the domestic digital textbook market will exceed 1 trillion KRW in size.

Initially, from March next year, AI digital textbooks will be introduced for some subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Information for 3rd and 4th graders in elementary school, 1st graders in middle school, and 1st graders in high school, with the target grades and subjects expected to expand gradually. Currently, 146 types of review copies have been submitted, and the Ministry of Education plans to announce the certification review results on this day, followed by objection submissions and review of revised versions, with the final results scheduled to be confirmed on November 29.

Experts believe that the government’s introduction of AI digital textbooks is likely to act as a momentum for educational companies. It is analyzed that the introduction of AI textbooks will accelerate the entry of private educational companies into the public education market and expand their influence.

Meanwhile, Woongjin ThinkBig is known to be actively developing AI textbooks in line with the government’s policy to introduce AI digital textbooks in public education starting in 2025. Woongjin ThinkBig launched Woongjin Book Club, a subscription service combining digital devices and books, for the first time in the education industry in 2014. In 2019, it also introduced AI-based mathematics for the first time in the industry.
