Guro-gu Holds 'Happiness Sharing Love Rice and Daily Necessities Delivery Ceremony'

Daehan Buddhist Cheontae Order (Nanu-myeo Hanadoegi) Donates Goods Worth 30 Million Won

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) held a ‘Happiness Sharing Love Rice and Daily Necessities Delivery Ceremony’ event for vulnerable groups in Guro-gu in collaboration with the Korea Buddhist Cheontae Order and the nonprofit organization Nanumyeo Hanadoegi at the Renaissance Hall of the district office on the 23rd.


At the delivery ceremony, 11 people including Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, Venerable Lee Do-gak, head monk of Myeonghwasa Temple of the Korea Buddhist Cheontae Order, and officials from Nanumyeo Hanadoegi held a meeting.


The sponsored items consist of daily necessities and quarantine supplies worth about 30 million won, including 1,000 kg of love rice, 30,000 quarantine masks, 50,000 disposable hand sanitizers, and 20,000 multipurpose gloves, which will be distributed and delivered to low-income elderly living alone and quarantine-vulnerable groups.


Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, said, “I thank Myeonghwasa Temple of the Korea Buddhist Cheontae Order and the officials of Nanumyeo Hanadoegi for sharing warmth with marginalized neighbors through this meaningful happiness goods sharing delivery ceremony,” and added, “I will carefully ensure that the sponsored items are delivered to places where they are truly needed.”
