Jaegyeongnam Honam Hometown Association Warms Hearts with Hometown Love Donation to Jeonnam Province

5 Million Won Delivered... Active Cooperation on Issues Such as Medical School Attraction

The Jaegyeong Nam-Honam Hometown Association visited the Jeonnam Provincial Office on the 23rd to donate 5 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Fund.

Attending the donation ceremony were Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province; Lee Byung-chul, President of the Jaegyeong Nam-Honam Hometown Association; Choi Kwon-sik, President of the Gimhae Hometown Association; Kim Eung-sang, President of the Changwon Hometown Association; and two others, totaling five people.

At the ceremony, President Lee Byung-chul said, "I heard that Jeonnam Province is making continuous efforts to select projects for the Hometown Love Fund," and added, "The Jaegyeong Nam-Honam Hometown Association will actively cooperate with Jeonnam Province's key initiatives such as recruiting supporters for the Jeonnam Love Campaign, the 365 Hometown Love Donation Campaign, and attracting a national medical school."

Governor Kim Young-rok stated, "It is reassuring that expatriates are practicing sharing and donation, and we will carefully implement fund projects to ensure the Hometown Love Fund is used effectively."

Jeonnam Province's '365 Hometown Love Donation Campaign' started in April with the purpose of encouraging individuals to donate 1,000 won per day, totaling 365,000 won annually, to express love for their hometown and promote regional development.

The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million won annually to local governments other than their registered residence.

Donors can receive thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and amounts exceeding 100,000 won are eligible for a 16.5% tax credit.
