Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) will participate in the "2024 Regional Economy Innovation Expo," which will be held at Daegu EXCO from the 23rd to the 25th for three days.

The expo, co-hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and The Korea Times, and participated in by local governments and local public institutions, will be held alongside the "Local Public Institution Day" event. It is designed to share the achievements and vision of the regional economy with the public, along with an annual review of the regional economy.

BMC will operate a promotional booth in the Public Institution Zone, featuring the "Planterior" (an interior design technique utilizing plants) concept, which reflects the corporation's commitment to eco-friendly development. BMC also plans to share various cases it has pursued for regional economic development.

BMC established a 30 billion KRW Win-Win Growth Fund to support financial assistance for local small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling them to secure business funds at low interest rates. The corporation has also signed MOUs and held working-level meetings with organizations such as the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority in India and the Maldives Housing Development Corporation. Through these efforts, BMC is preparing to build an overseas expansion platform that shares information on local construction environments and development project bids with local companies, thereby striving to revitalize the regional economy in various ways.

Additionally, BMC has developed and operates a Housing Welfare Service Index to support citizens in achieving stable economic activity through improved residential environments and welfare services. The corporation has also laid the foundation for providing high-quality administrative services to citizens by innovating its internal personnel draft system to enhance work efficiency. BMC plans to introduce these achievements at this expo.

At the booth, decorated with various plants, visitors will be able to participate in hands-on activities such as making hydroponic plant pots using lucky bamboo, sharing ideas on improving indoor environments, planterior, and sustainable development.

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "Our employees have worked hard to drive innovation in various fields for the development of the local community and economic revitalization, in line with our founding purpose of 'improving citizens' housing welfare and developing the local community.' As a leading agent of economic innovation in the region, we will continue to make multifaceted efforts."
