"Successful Landing Could Enable Manned Missions in 4 Years"
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, who dreams of humanity's migration to Mars, has unveiled a blueprint to launch five unmanned spacecraft to Mars within two years.
On the 22nd (local time), Musk CEO stated on his X (formerly Twitter), "We plan to launch five unmanned 'Starships' (SpaceX spacecraft developed for lunar and Mars exploration) to Mars within two years," adding, "Regardless of whether the landings succeed, the number of spacecraft going to Mars will increase exponentially."
Musk CEO said, "If all of these land safely, manned missions will be possible in four years," but added, "If problems arise, manned exploration will be delayed by another two years." He explained that traveling from Earth to Mars is difficult because it is only possible every two years when the two planets align in a row.
Musk CEO's SpaceX project stems from the goal of building a self-sustaining city on Mars before Earth's civilization is destroyed by disasters such as nuclear war, supervirus outbreaks, or population collapse. In April, he confidently stated, "Unmanned Starship spacecraft will reach Mars within five years, and humanity will be able to land on Mars for the first time within seven years." In June, after the fourth test flight, the spacecraft successfully orbited Earth and returned, bringing humanity one step closer to migrating to Mars.
On the same day, Musk CEO also continued his criticism of the Joe Biden administration and Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. He pointed out, "One of my biggest concerns right now is that the Starship program is being suffocated by government bureaucracy that grows like a mountain every year," citing that despite California high-speed rail spending $7 billion over several years, the project has not progressed due to bureaucratic dysfunction. He added, "The bureaucracy currently choking the United States will surely increase under the Democratic government and the Kamala administration," warning, "This will destroy the Mars plan and humanity."
Musk CEO is a fervent supporter of Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump. In response, former President Trump has expressed his intention to establish a committee to audit the entire federal government's finances and performance and to appoint Musk CEO as its head. In a recent campaign rally, he also said, "When I am president, I will talk with Elon Musk to launch rocket spacecraft so that humanity can see arrival on Mars," lending his support. Musk CEO responded to Trump's statement on X with a comment saying, "Yes!"
