14 Public Institutions Including Police Station, Fire Station, and Central Library
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam has expanded the installation of 'automatic tumbler washers' in public institutions throughout the city to reduce the use of disposable cups.
Yangsan City initially installed one automatic tumbler washer as a pilot project on the first floor of the City Hall Business Center in April. Due to positive feedback from users, the city has now expanded the installation to 14 public institutions, including Yangsan Police Station, Yangsan Fire Station, and the Central Library.
Tumblers have not been widely used in the past due to the inconvenience of having to wash them by hand. However, this washer uses eco-friendly detergent and can clean all tumbler components?including the cup, straw, and lid?in just 45 seconds, from washing to rinsing and sterilization, making it very convenient to use.
A city official stated, "Since users have responded positively to the tumbler washers, we have expanded the installation to 14 public institutions," and added, "As we plan to continue increasing the number of installations, we ask everyone to join us in reducing the use of disposable products."
