The Australian media outlet Sydney Morning Herald reported on the 22nd (local time) that "Jeffrey Kwan was hit in the eye area by a tee shot from an amateur participant during a pro-am tournament held on the 20th at Club Catalina in Batemans Bay, New South Wales, Australia," and "he was subsequently transported urgently from a nearby hospital to an ophthalmology specialist hospital in Canberra."

Kwan's coach, Paul Davis, said, "Due to multiple orbital fractures, he is scheduled to go to Sydney for further examinations," adding, "There is concern that he may lose his eyesight." Australian local media did not disclose which eye Kwan was injured in.

Kwan is a promising player ranked 989th in the world. Last week, he made his regular tour debut on the U.S. stage at the PGA Tour's ProCore Championship held in California, USA. He performed well on the first day with a 3-under-par 69, but struggled on the second day with a 3-over-par 75 and was cut off. After failing to advance to the main event, he returned to Australia and participated in this pro-am tournament.
