"Antiques, Traditional Tea, and Hanbok Gathered in One Place"... 'Insadong Antique & Art Fair' Opens on the 26th

"Antiques, Traditional Tea, and Hanbok Gathered in One Place"... 'Insadong Antique & Art Fair' Opens on the 26th Jung Moon-heon, Mayor of Jongno-gu, greeting at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Insadong Antique & Art Fair. Provided by Jongno-gu.

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the "37th Insadong Traditional Culture Festival 2024 Insadong Antique & Art Fair" at Annyeong Insadong Insacentral Museum and around Insadong from the 26th of this month to October 20th.


Hosted by Jongno-gu and organized by the Insadong Traditional Culture Preservation Association (President Shin Soyoon), the event is diversely composed of an opening ceremony on the 26th, followed by Part 1 Tea & Craft Expo, Part 2 Insadong Antique Fair, Part 3 Hanbok Fair "Modern Hanbok," and Part 4 Art Fair.


On the first day, the 26th, from 3:20 PM, a brush calligraphy performance and a parade along the cultural street of Insadong will mark the opening of the festival. The Part 1 Tea & Craft Expo, where visitors can experience the charm of traditional tea and crafts, will be held from September 26th to 29th. Traditional teas from across the country can be enjoyed, centered around Insadong.


Part 2 Antique Fair will continue from October 3rd to 6th. It is the nation’s first large-scale antique art fair. Part 3 Hanbok Fair "Modern Hanbok" will take place from October 10th to 13th, and Part 4 Art Fair will be held from October 17th to 20th, showcasing various works from Insadong galleries.


During the event period, various side events such as Korean traditional music busking, framing demonstrations, K-food experiences, K-dog festival, and brush calligraphy name writing will be held throughout Insadong. District Mayor Jeong Munheon said, "Through this event, we aim to enhance the domestic and international status of Insadong, which represents our traditional culture, and contribute to revitalizing the commercial district. We hope visitors appreciate the high-quality antique art, framing, crafts, and tea exhibitions and discover the charm of Insadong where tradition and modernity harmonize."
