Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) conducted an on-site safety inspection of piers and port facilities in the Busan New Port area on the 19th to prepare for autumn typhoons.
The BPA Head of Operations and the New Port Branch Manager inspected the small vessel pier, the cargo truck parking lot, and the hinterland area of the New Port. They urged on-site personnel to take preventive measures in advance, such as removing pallets and lumber that could be blown away by strong winds, securing various facilities, and checking drainage systems.
In particular, Busan Port Authority plans to focus on thorough inspections of the piers and port facilities under its jurisdiction in order to identify and improve potential hazards in advance, thereby doing its utmost to prevent human and material damage.
BPA Head of Operations Hong Sungjun said, "Port safety is our top priority," and added, "Since autumn typhoons often maintain their strength and can cause significant damage, we will do our best to ensure thorough preventive measures."
