Korea Expressway Corporation announced on the 19th that it attended the 30th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 16th as part of the Korean delegation. The purpose was to support small and medium-sized enterprises in exploring overseas markets through ITS technology exchange and promotion.

Jinsik Son, Executive Vice President of Korea Expressway Corporation, attended as the Chairman of the Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Congress Organizing Committee and sequentially met with delegations from seven countries including the United States and Singapore to introduce Korea's highway ITS technology. He also discussed the successful hosting of next year's Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Congress. In particular, on this day, he shared traffic management technologies related to autonomous driving on highways with Bayanat AI, the largest autonomous driving solution provider in the UAE.
Known as the "Transportation Olympics," the ITS World Congress is the world's largest ITS exhibition and academic conference held annually since it began in Paris, France in 1994. In Korea, the 32nd ITS World Congress is scheduled to be held in Gangneung in 2026, following Seoul (1998) and Busan (2010).
This ITS World Congress was held under the theme "Mobility Driven by ITS." Approximately 20,000 ITS professionals from about 100 countries participated, featuring various programs such as advanced technology demonstrations and academic presentations.
Executive Vice President Jinsik Son said, "As ITS-related technology exchange is important to advance toward future advanced highways, we will strive to successfully host the '2025 Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Congress' and the '2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress' taking this ITS World Congress participation as an opportunity."
