From Punggi Ginseng to the Agricultural Specialty Festival, Abundant 'Yeongju Autumn'

Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province is holding an event to give away Yeongju Love Gift Certificates (up to 20,000 won) to tourists who visit local festivals using the Yeongjubantting Tourism Taxi.

The festivals included in the event are: ▲Gyeongbuk Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival (Oct. 5?13) ▲Museom Wooden Bridge Festival (Oct. 5?6) ▲Yeongju Market Day Agricultural Specialty Festival (Nov. 1?3). The event targets tourists from outside the region who take the tourism taxi and visit the festival venues during the festival periods.

To participate, tourists must reserve the Yeongjubantting Tourism Taxi through the Yeongju City Culture and Tourism website or mobile apps (KORAIL Talk, Roiku) at least three days before their trip. On the day of travel, they receive an exchange voucher from the taxi driver, which can be redeemed for gift certificates at the festival's operation headquarters.

The gift certificate amount depends on the number of taxi passengers: 10,000 won for 1?2 people, and 20,000 won for 3?4 people. The gift certificates can be used like cash at Yeongju Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores, including the festival venues. The event may end early if the budget runs out.

Mayor Park Namseo stated, "This event was prepared to allow tourists to conveniently and affordably enjoy the region's representative festivals without the burden of driving themselves. I hope you fully enjoy the leisurely and abundant autumn of Yeongju along with its diverse festivals."

The Yeongjubantting Tourism Taxi, which began operating last February, costs 90,000 won for a 4-hour course, 120,000 won for a 6-hour course, and 140,000 won for a 7-hour course. Yeongju City subsidizes 50% of the fare, so travelers only need to pay half when making a reservation.

Additionally, during the Punggi Ginseng Festival, a "Punggi Ginseng Festival at Half Price" train tourism package in cooperation with KORAIL will be available. Visitors using this package can receive up to a 50% discount on train fares and a 10,000 won Yeongju Love Gift Certificate. The package can be purchased on the Let's Korail website and the KORAIL Talk app.
