Dong-A University Holds Entrance Ceremony for 397 New International Students in Second Semester

Undergraduate, Language Training, Exchange, and Graduate Students

Dong-A University (President Lee Haeu) announced on the 19th that it recently held the entrance ceremony for new international students for the second semester of the 2024 academic year at Daou Hall, Bumin Campus.

A total of 397 international students from 40 countries, including undergraduate students, language trainees, exchange students, and graduate students, were admitted at the entrance ceremony.

Park Hyuntae, Director of the Office of External and International Affairs at Dong-A University, said, "It may not be easy to study while adapting to a new environment, but here, you are civilian diplomats representing your respective countries and, after graduation, will become global talents who serve as bridges between Korea and your home countries. Dong-A University will serve as a gateway for you to advance into the future and the world."

Le Budi Eurin (Vietnam, Department of Chinese Studies, 1st year), representing the new students, said, "I will do my best not only in my studies but also to expand myself and achieve my dreams through various activities and experiences. With passion and a positive mindset toward school life, I will listen to the advice of seniors and professors, gain the necessary knowledge, and move forward."

Nyan Win Thut (Myanmar, Department of Tourism Management, 3rd year), President of the Myanmar Student Association and representative of current students, delivered a welcome speech, saying, "I sincerely welcome and congratulate you on coming to Dong-A University. Having experienced studying abroad for several years, I fully understand your excitement and concerns. Dong-A University will be a great support as you adapt and grow, and I am confident that your time here will become a valuable experience."

At the entrance ceremony, the International Exchange Office at Dong-A University warmly welcomed the international students by screening video letters sent by their families, introducing the integrated international student support group 'DAILY' and the newly opened Global Talent Center (Korean Language Institute and International Exchange Space) earlier this month. Snack gifts and a performance by the fusion Korean traditional music group 'Choa Band' also received great enthusiasm.
