15.7km from Daebudo Tourist Information Center to Siheung Baegot Haneul Park
The Siheung 52 Course of the Gyeonggi Dullegil Trail is a 15.7 km path that stretches from Daebudo Tourist Information Center, passes through the Sihwa Embankment, and continues to Siheung Baegot Hanul Park. Walking along the 30-ri sea road that connects Daebudo and Siheung City via the Sihwa Embankment, you can enjoy views of the sea for over five hours.
The starting point is in front of the Daebudo Tourist Information Center. After passing the entrance of Bangameori Port, you ascend onto the Sihwa Embankment. The length of the Sihwa Embankment, which connects Daebudo in Danwon-gu, Ansan City, and Siheung City, is 12.7 km. The reservoir created by this embankment, which began construction in 1987 and was completed in 1994, is called Sihwa Lake. Walking this path, the sea unfolds to the left and Sihwa Lake to the right. Sihwa Lake, which had many problems due to water pollution for some time, is said to have recovered its water quality after seawater was introduced following the installation of a tidal power plant.
After walking about 4 km along the Sihwa Embankment, you reach Sihwa Narae Tidal Power Park. This park, created around the tidal power plant, is an eco-friendly resting area made from soil excavated during the power plant’s construction. The park features the Tidal Culture Center and the Moon Observatory. At the Culture Center, you can see exhibitions on the principles of tidal power generation and themes such as the moon, water, life, and energy. The Moon Observatory symbolizes light created using seawater. From here, you can get a panoramic view of the West Sea and Sihwa Lake.
Leaving the park, you continue walking along the seaside path. Feeling the sea and the wind, you eventually arrive at Oido. Oido was connected to the mainland during the Japanese colonial period for salt field development. Its original name was 'Ojilido,' which was shortened to Oido. After the development of the Sihwa district, Oido was reborn as a marine tourism complex. Its famous landmark is the Red Lighthouse. This lighthouse, representing Oido, was built in 2005. Thanks to its vivid color, it is popular as a dating spot for couples and a photo shoot location for photography enthusiasts. On the first floor, an exhibition hall provides information about Siheung’s culture, tourism, and history. From the observatory, you can view the Sihwa Industrial Complex, Baegot New Town, and Incheon Songdo New Town. Leaving the Oido Red Lighthouse and passing Baedari Pier, you reach your destination, Hanul Park.
