If You Build a House of 5 Floors or More, Infrastructure Such as Roads Will Be Provided
"Support Projects Will Be Prepared So New Residents Can Feel the Benefits"
When creating a small-scale rural village in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, up to 600 million KRW in infrastructure project costs will be supported. On September 12, Hwacheon County Council approved the original draft of the "Hwacheon County Housing Supply Activation Support Ordinance" submitted by County Governor Choi Moon-soon. This ordinance mainly aims to support essential infrastructure required for housing construction to promote the influx of outsiders and stabilize residents' housing.
According to the ordinance, Hwacheon County can provide support for infrastructure project costs such as access roads, water supply and sewage, drainage, and electrical communication facilities needed on the site to those who plan to develop detached houses or apartment complexes with five or more households. The infrastructure cost support is 60 million KRW per household, up to a maximum of 600 million KRW. Those wishing to develop housing complexes must complete administrative procedures such as building permits before receiving infrastructure installation support. Additionally, they must submit a land use consent form or transfer ownership of the site to themselves. If construction does not proceed within a certain period after approval without special reasons, support may be canceled according to the decision of the County Administration Adjustment Committee.
Hwacheon County prepared this ordinance anticipating an increase in the population leaving cities to enjoy a leisurely life with family and acquaintances due to aging demographics. Besides this, Hwacheon County is committed to expanding various residential spaces and improving living conditions, including support for new construction and renovation of vacant houses, supplying rental housing for youth and newlyweds, building welfare housing for the elderly, and developing rural housing sites.
County Governor Choi Moon-soon emphasized, "In addition to the newly established Housing Supply Activation Support Ordinance, we are preparing support projects that newcomers can tangibly feel across more comprehensive and extensive fields."
