Pocheon City's Most Prestigious Awards... 7 Winners Selected in 6 Categories
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 19th that it held the 2024 Pocheon Citizen Award Merit Review Committee meeting on the 12th at the city hall conference room and selected the honorable award recipients.
Now in its 16th year, the Pocheon Citizen Award is the most prestigious award in Pocheon City, given to the top contributors in each category who have dedicated themselves to the development and service of the local community.
On this day, the Merit Review Committee selected seven recipients across six categories through a fair and strict evaluation. The Industrial Economy category was not selected in accordance with Article 10 of the "Pocheon Citizen Award Ordinance Enforcement Rules."
The selected recipients are: △ Culture and Arts category - Lee Ja-hee, Head of the Pocheon Branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association △ Sports category - Lee Kyung-joo, Chairman of the Gwanin-myeon Sports Council △ Education and Scholarship category - Song Sung-sook, Associate Professor at Daejin University △ Regional Development category - Lee In-seok, Member of the Idong-myeon Residents’ Autonomous Committee △ Agriculture category - Ahn Han-jin, Head of the Pocheon Broiler Branch of the Korea Poultry Association △ Social Service category - Han Eun-sook, Chairperson of the Pocheon District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, and Park Sung-hwan, Chairman of the Sinbuk-myeon Defense Council.
The Pocheon Citizen Award ceremony will be held at the 22nd Pocheon Citizens’ Day commemorative event on October 13 at the Pocheon Sports Complex.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “The award recipients have long been recognized by citizens for their exceptional patriotism and dedication to the development and service of the local community. I ask that they continue to join us in making Pocheon a beautiful and progressive city.”
