"Helicopters Flying, Patrol Cars Racing at 140 km/h"... Intense Chase of Trump Assassination Suspect

Witness: "Suspect's Vehicle Speeds Ahead Fiercely... Police Aim Guns at Suspect and Arrest"

On the 15th (local time), in Florida, USA, police deployed a helicopter and more than 20 patrol cars on the highway to conduct a tense chase to arrest a suspect who fled after attempting to assassinate former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Daniel Rodriguez, a driver on the I-95 highway in Martin County on the afternoon the suspect was arrested, told CNN that he witnessed the police engage in a tense chase with a black Nissan sport utility vehicle (SUV) carrying the assassination attempt suspect, which ended with the suspect's arrest.

He said, "I saw several police officers start to speed up behind us," adding, "A black Nissan car was speeding, weaving in and out between other cars."

He continued, "We saw a helicopter flying overhead, and more and more police started to appear. Then a state trooper stopped the cars on the road and halted the lanes."

Rodriguez described the chase as "insane," saying, "That Nissan sped fiercely right next to us, and several police cars were driving at least 90 miles per hour (144 km/h)," conveying the tense moment.

The witness said he stood on the road for about two hours until the police controlled the vehicles, arrested the suspect, and the situation was resolved.

He said, "In the end, at least twenty patrol cars were behind that Nissan," adding, "I had binoculars and saw police and some agents aiming rifles at the suspect."

The arrested suspect, Ryan Wesley Rouse (58), is accused of attempting to assassinate former President Trump at a Trump-owned golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on the afternoon of the same day.

According to judicial authorities, while former President Trump was playing golf, a security guard discovered the suspect aiming an AK-47 type rifle from outside the golf course between a fence and bushes.

When the security guard fired back, the suspect dropped the rifle and fled in an SUV, later being arrested by police on a highway in Martin County, north of Palm Beach County.

Former President Trump was reported to be unharmed and safe, and the police are currently investigating the suspect after arresting him.
