Ulsan Institute of Health and Environment Recognized as a Qualified Institution in Odor Proficiency

All Categories Rated 'Satisfactory' in Evaluation Led by National Institute of Environmental Research

The Ulsan Institute of Health and Environment achieved excellent results and was recognized as a "qualified institution" in the "2024 Proficiency Test in the Field of Odor" organized by the National Institute of Environmental Research.

This test was established to improve the measurement and analysis capabilities for odor substances and to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement and analysis results.

It is conducted annually for about 100 odor measurement and analysis institutions nationwide, including city and provincial health and environment research institutes, the Environmental Corporation, and measurement agencies.

The evaluation items increased by two compared to last year, totaling eight items: complex odors, volatile organic compounds (toluene, xylene, styrene), and aldehydes (acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, butyraldehyde, n-valeraldehyde).

The Ulsan Institute of Health and Environment received a "satisfactory" rating in all eight categories in this test and scored 100 points based on the converted institutional evaluation score for each field.

An official from the Institute of Health and Environment stated, "We will do our best to strengthen our analytical capabilities and improve the accuracy and reliability of our analysis results so that we can carry out odor-related tasks that earn the trust of citizens."
