Isukja Operating Committee Chair Attends 'Seoul Research Institute Jeongdong Office Opening Ceremony'
Welcome to Seoul Research Institute Jeongdong Office, Seoul City's Think Tank
Expect Active Discussions and Exchanges Between Seoul Research Institute, Seoul City, and Seoul City Council
After merging with the Seoul Research Institute, the Seoul Institute opened a new era at the Jeongdong office in Jung-gu.
Lee Suk-ja, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council’s Steering Committee (People Power Party·Seocho 2), attended the ‘Seoul Institute Jeongdong Office Opening Ceremony’ on the 12th and celebrated the beginning of the new office.
The Seoul Institute, a research organization under the city government, absorbed the functions of the Seoul Technology Research Institute last November and was reborn as a convergent research institute in the fields of policy and science and technology.
Following the institutional integration, the Seoul Institute secured space and relocated its branch office from Mapo-gu to Jung-gu, near Seoul City Hall and the Seoul Metropolitan Council, in August to reduce the physical distance between Seoul City and the Seoul Metropolitan Council and improve work efficiency, opening the Jeongdong branch office.
In his congratulatory speech at the event, Chairperson Lee Suk-ja emphasized the role and importance of the Seoul Institute, saying, “The Seoul Institute is a representative research organization of the Republic of Korea and the think tank of Seoul City. When there are policies or issues, if thorough preliminary research analysis or various survey analyses are not conducted, it is like building a castle on sand.”
She continued, “I look forward to active discussions and exchanges between Seoul City and the Seoul Metropolitan Council now that the Seoul Institute is located at the Jeongdong office,” and welcomed the move by saying, “In the future, I will propose various agendas and request research for the benefit of Seoul citizens.”
At the opening ceremony, key figures including Kim Sang-han, First Deputy Mayor of Seoul, Kim In-je, Vice Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and Lim Chun-dae, Chairperson of the Planning and Economy Committee, were present, showing deep interest and expectations for policy research.
