Guri City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 13th that it will operate an emergency medical system during the Chuseok holiday to ensure that citizens can spend the holiday healthily and safely.

In preparation for disasters, the public health center's emergency medical rapid response team has been organized, and an emergency medical countermeasure situation room will be operated to guide citizens to on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies, as well as to supervise and inspect their operation to ensure that emergency medical care proceeds without any issues.

In particular, Hanyang University Guri Hospital, a regional emergency medical center, and Yunseo Hospital, an emergency medical facility, will operate their emergency rooms 24 hours a day during the Chuseok holiday. Additionally, 11 local clinics and 17 pharmacies will operate on different days to support primary care for mild patients.

The status of local medical institutions and pharmacies available for emergency treatment can be checked on the Guri City Hall website, and the status of medical institutions and pharmacies nationwide can be confirmed through the Emergency Medical Portal (E-GEN), the Health and Welfare Call Center (129), the Ambulance Situation Management Center (119), and the City/Province Call Center (120).

Baek Kyung-hyun, mayor of Guri City, said, “We will do our best to operate the emergency medical system during the holiday so that citizens can have a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday,” and urged, “Since the number of emergency room visits is expected to increase during the holiday, mild non-emergency patients are advised to use clinics that are open whenever possible.”
