SK Shieldus Tackles Electric Vehicle Phobia with Customized Fire Response Solutions

Collaboration between Hancom Lifecare and Electric Vehicle and Lithium Battery Fire Response

SK Shieldus announced on the 13th that it will collaborate with Hancom Lifecare to establish a fire prevention system for electric vehicles and lithium batteries.


SK Shieldus, in partnership with Hancom Lifecare, a smart safety solution specialist, will introduce a system-based response framework specialized in extinguishing fires in electric vehicles and batteries. Through this collaboration, SK Shieldus will consult on the overall response system and build a fire prevention system. Hancom Lifecare will provide electric vehicle fire prevention solutions such as inert gas extinguishing agents and immersion tanks. Both companies have committed to focusing on joint business promotion and sales activities based on their respective core competencies.

Going forward, SK Shieldus plans to enhance versatile customized fire safety services across various sites by combining the ‘SUMiTS’ platform with Hancom Lifecare’s fire extinguishing solutions. In this process, they will build an integrated infrastructure capable of responding swiftly to various disasters in real time by linking SK Shieldus’s control center servers and systems with intelligent CCTV and Internet of Things (IoT) sensors.


Kim Jinjoong, Head of the Converged Security Business Division at SK Shieldus, stated, "Taking this opportunity to collaborate with Hancom Lifecare, we will strengthen industrial safety infrastructure to prepare for electric vehicle fires," adding, "We will continue to proactively discover competitive solutions, create various synergies with the SUMiTS platform, and lead market expansion."
