Hanyang University Hospital and Other General Hospitals Provide 24-Hour Medical Services; Seongdong-gu Health Center Operates Internal Medicine Emergency Clinics on September 14, 16, and 17... From September 14 to 18, About 140 Clinics and 140 Pharmacies Operate, with 203 Safety Emergency Drug Vendors Available for Purchase
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it will implement emergency medical measures to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by medical service gaps during the Chuseok holiday period.
From the 14th to the 18th, during the Chuseok holiday, the district will cooperate with local medical institutions and pharmacies to designate and operate hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies that will be open each day, ensuring residents do not experience inconvenience due to medical service gaps or difficulties in purchasing medicines.
Accordingly, more than 280 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies will be open during the holiday period, including 140 medical institutions (87 hospitals and clinics, 20 dental clinics, 33 Korean medicine clinics) and about 140 pharmacies. Safety over-the-counter medicines (13 items), such as digestive aids and antipyretic analgesics, can also be purchased at 203 convenience stores and other authorized sellers.
Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the Chuseok holiday can be found on the Seongdong-gu Office and Public Health Center websites or the Emergency Medical Portal. Guidance is also available via 120 (Dasan Call Center), 119 (Emergency Situation Management Center), and the mobile app ‘Emergency Medical Information Service.’
Comprehensive hospital-level medical institutions, including Hanyang University Hospital, the regional emergency medical center in the area, will provide 24-hour care to promptly respond to emergency patients and mass casualty incidents.
The Seongdong-gu Public Health Center operates an emergency medical response situation room to fill gaps in medical services. It serves to consult and guide residents regarding inconveniences during the holiday period.
In particular, this year, an emergency medical team will be organized and operated for three days?on the Saturday before the holiday and on the first and middle days of the holiday, the 14th, 16th, and 17th?from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A responsible doctor will be on-site to provide primary medical care, including internal medicine consultations (excluding emergency treatment).
The district will also activate an emergency quarantine task force to prevent waterborne and foodborne infectious diseases, as well as tick- and rodent (rat)-borne infectious diseases that commonly occur in autumn. While maintaining a 24-hour emergency quarantine system in preparation for patient occurrences, a disease control monitoring and epidemiological investigation team will be formed to ensure rapid response in case of infectious disease outbreaks.
Mayor Jung Won-oh stated, “We plan to carry out emergency medical measures without fail so that residents can use medical services safely and without interruption during the Chuseok holiday.” He added, “We will continue to support all residents to live healthy and safe daily lives.”
