In August, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the United States rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced on the 12th (local time) that the August PPI increased by 1.7% year-over-year.
The month-over-month increase matched the expert forecast of 0.2% compiled by Dow Jones.
The core producer price index, excluding energy and food, rose by 0.3% month-over-month, exceeding the expert forecast of 0.2%. It increased by 3.3% year-over-year.
Meanwhile, initial jobless claims totaled 230,000, slightly surpassing the expected 227,000.
