100% Use of Compostable Eco-Friendly Raw Materials
Eco-friendly chemical material specialist Dong Sung Chemical and Emart's eco-friendly and value consumption brand Jayeonjuui are reducing carbon emissions by applying air caps made from eco-friendly materials to food packaging.
On the 12th, Dong Sung Chemical announced that its compostable packaging brand ECOVIVA® air caps, made from compostable materials, will be applied to Emart Jayeonjuui's 'Chuseok Low-Carbon Certified Apple and Pear Mixed Set.'
Dong Sung Chemical's ECOVIVA air caps are made with 100% biodegradable resin certified by the Ministry of Environment's Environmental Label (EL724). This biodegradable resin naturally decomposes into water and carbon dioxide within 180 days under certain temperature and microbial conditions.
In addition to ECOVIVA air caps, Dong Sung Chemical plans to expand the application of bead foam, ice packs, and other products to Emart Jayeonjuui's holiday gift sets.
Kim Geun-mo, Executive Director of Dong Sung Chemical's Bioplastic Business Division, stated, "ECOVIVA air caps are an alternative that can solve environmental problems caused by petroleum-based non-degradable plastic packaging. Based on the cushioning function and eco-friendliness of ECOVIVA air caps, we are expanding their application fields to packaging for food as well as electrical and electronic products, medical, and pharmaceutical sectors."
In April, Dong Sung Chemical established a 'Bioplastic Complex' at its Ulsan plant and is diversifying its product lineup by developing not only ECOVIVA air caps but also bead foam, multilayer films, and hot melt adhesives.
