Bucheon-si Provides Up to 1 Million Won for Hearing Aid Purchases to Residents in Airport Noise Areas

Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it will provide financial support for hearing aid purchases to residents living in airport noise control areas (including nearby areas).

Applicants must have lived for more than three years in Bucheon City's airport noise control areas or nearby regions and must have been diagnosed with moderate hearing loss. However, those who are registered as hearing disabled and have previously received hearing aid support, or those who have received hearing aid support from other institutions within the past five years, are excluded from eligibility.

The hearing aid purchase cost support is up to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW per person, with a 10% co-payment. If the purchase cost is within the support limit, the amount excluding the 10% co-payment will be covered.

Eligible applicants can purchase hearing aid products listed as disability hearing aid benefits by the Ministry of Health and Welfare from hearing aid specialist vendors registered with the National Health Insurance Service in the region.

Residents wishing to apply for hearing aid purchase support can visit the Bucheon City Environment Division or the 1st-floor civil service office of Gokangbon-dong Administrative Welfare Center with an application form, resident registration abstract, and a diagnosis certificate of moderate hearing loss.

Applications will be accepted from the 25th onwards, every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until the budget is exhausted. The selection results will be individually notified after document screening.
