Gyeonggi-do Operates 'Emergency Response Week' Before and After Chuseok... Emergency Medical System Activated Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will operate a "Chuseok Holiday Emergency Response Week" for two weeks around Chuseok (September 11?25). It will also activate a stable emergency medical and emergency treatment system.

On the 12th, Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim Dong-yeon chaired a video conference of the "Gyeonggi Province Emergency Medical Council," attended by the directors of nine regional emergency medical centers and six Gyeonggi Province medical center directors, to discuss measures for treating severe emergency patients during the Chuseok holiday and to recheck the emergency medical response status.

First, during the "Chuseok Holiday Emergency Response Week," Gyeonggi Province will operate the Emergency Medical Countermeasures Headquarters led by the First Deputy Governor, overseeing the operation status of medical institutions and pharmacies during the holiday period.

Additionally, 72 emergency medical institutions in the province?including nine regional emergency medical centers, 33 local emergency medical centers, and 30 local emergency medical institutions?will each be assigned a dedicated one-on-one responsible officer to monitor changes in emergency room medical personnel, minimize emergency room closures caused by such changes, and identify issues in real time.

Furthermore, rapid response teams at public health centers (49 locations) and disaster base hospitals (9 locations) will maintain a dispatch system to respond immediately in case of disasters or accidents.

From the 13th to the 18th, six Gyeonggi Province medical centers (Suwon, Uijeongbu, Paju, Icheon, Anseong, and Pocheon) will operate fever clinics alongside their emergency rooms.

Also, from the 16th to the 18th, each hospital will conduct outpatient consultations by rotating through different departments.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Anseong Rest Area Clinic will provide outpatient services from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 16th, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the 14th, 15th, 17th, and 18th.

The departments available include family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, and otolaryngology. However, detailed information such as departments available during the Chuseok holiday may vary depending on each hospital's situation.

During the three-day holiday period (16th?18th), the number of on-duty hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies operating in the province will increase by 20.6% to 4,629 locations compared to last Lunar New Year (3,838 locations).

Meanwhile, information on medical institutions open during the holiday can be obtained from the Gyeonggi Province and Emergency Medical Portal (www.e-gen.or.kr) websites and the Gyeonggi Province Call Center (031-120). Patients who suffer damages such as refusal of severe or emergency treatment can seek assistance from the Health and Welfare Counseling Center (dial 129 without area code).
