iToxie, Dragon Raja Origin New Server Opened... Korea-Taiwan Competitive Landscape

Itoksy (CEO Jeon Bong-gyu) announced on the 12th that the MMORPG "Dragon Raja Origin," which it services, has launched its One Store service in Taiwan and will open a new server on the 13th, allowing Taiwanese and Korean users to play on the same server.

"Dragon Raja Origin," Itoksy's representative republishing game that made a legendary comeback in last year's sales rankings through influencer marketing, is a well-known IP not only among Korean users but also among gamers in Taiwan and China, playing a pioneering role in Itoksy's global expansion.

According to the company, the Taiwanese market has a similar success formula to the domestic game market, and Taiwanese gamers are known to have similar tendencies to Korean users. Content such as player-versus-player battles and guild-centered combat, which Korean users are enthusiastic about, are equally popular among Taiwanese users, making MMORPGs, a representative Korean genre, dominant in the region.

In fact, NCSoft's "Lineage" series has long held the number one spot in Google Play sales in Taiwan, and many Korean MMORPGs currently rank high in sales. Industry experts say that direct competition between users of the two countries on the same server was ultimately the driving force behind the success.

An Itoksy official stated, "In line with the characteristics of the Taiwanese market, we plan to launch a powerful promotion in partnership with famous influencers, including 'Dinter,' the number one Taiwanese MMORPG influencer with about 965,000 subscribers, coinciding with the opening of the new server where Taiwan and Korea will directly compete." He added, "We will partner with influencers who played the most important role in the success of Lineage W in Taiwan and aim to create another comeback legend for 'Dragon Raja Origin.'"

He continued, "With the opening of the new server for Dragon Raja Origin, fierce competition between Taiwanese and Korean users is expected," and added, "We ask many users and influencers who take pride in Korea as the homeland of gaming to join the battle."

Meanwhile, another ally for "Dragon Raja Origin" is "One Store," which recently officially announced its global service. One Store announced its official entry into overseas markets such as Taiwan and Europe at a media briefing held on the 28th of last month at the SK Telecom T Tower Supex Hall in Euljiro, Seoul. On that day, One Store officially declared the launch of the joint app market "Kuairuan Store" in partnership with "HappyTuk," Taiwan's largest game publisher and partner in the region.
