The Korean Nurses Association (KNA) announced on the 12th that eight university hospitals in the Seoul metropolitan area, which did not recruit new nurses in the first half of this year, will begin the recruitment process for new nurses in November.
According to the KNA, the hospitals conducting new nurse recruitment include ▲Seoul National University Hospital (Bundang Seoul National University Hospital) ▲Seoul Asan Medical Center ▲Samsung Medical Center ▲Korea University Guro and Anam Hospitals ▲Konkuk University Medical Center ▲Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital.
Previously, due to the prolonged medical-government conflict, most hospitals except for two?Kangbuk Samsung Hospital and Chung-Ang University Hospital?had put new nurse recruitment on hold.
The KNA stated, "This is the result of continuous discussions and communication with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and tertiary general hospitals," adding, "Other hospitals that did not recruit in the first half are also reviewing whether to proceed with recruitment."
They added, "We expect that the job search difficulties faced by nurses preparing for employment at tertiary general hospitals will be somewhat alleviated," and "We will strive to maximize the expansion of new nurse recruitment."
